My plan for today’s post was to link to the Last Week Tonight video but sadly, it’s not available in the UK so it would seem pointless to even try. It was essentially slating Trump and how the country in which Mr Oliver now lives, could elect  ‘A (Ku Klux) Klan-backed misogynist internet troll will deliver the next State of the Union Address, and that is not normal,’ If you can find a version either on YouTube or on Sky Atlantic it’s very worth a watch.

Still with Sky Atlantic, well HBO, I see season 9 of Curb Your Enthusiasm has started filming. I am in two minds about this series. Series 8 was no where near as good as the highs of the 4th season but maybe the time away, over 5 years, has given Larry some time to find new things to be annoyed with which would be pretty pretty pretty good.

Moving away from HBO/Sky Atlantic. One of the two main podcasts I listen to was recently given a non broadcast pilot. I would urge you to go and listen to Do the Right Thing, as the official blurb says: An award-winning panel show podcast where the teams must work out the right thing to do in any given situation. With Danielle Ward, Margaret Cabourn-Smith, Michael Legge and special guests.

My other main podcast is also a panel show, by the same producer. Yet they had a TV series, kinda sitcom thing which sadly was not as good as this. I am talking about Pappy’s Flatshare Slamdown. An innovative audio comedy panel game podcast from sketch team Pappy’s, recorded in front of a live audience. These episodes are not topical so it’s fun to listen to Flatslam anytime.

Pappy’s by the way are a British three-man comedy act, composed of comedians Ben Clark, Matthew Crosby and Tom Parry. (Poor Ben no Wikipedia link). I currently can’t listen to this podcast on public transport. As I look like an escaped lunatic laughing to myself on a tram. If you like puns, well judged music rip offs and sheer mayhem you should listen. The Sleaford Mods parody was so perfect it hurt.. Gold Gold Gold Gold
